Question:
How many brackets do I need for a 100 cm long shelf?
Answer:
For a shelf with a length of 100 cm, you can use 2 brackets, especially if you are not going to keep heavy objects on this shelf. But we recommend to prevent the shelves from bending over in time due to the weight of the products, to put brackets from 45 to 45 cm apart. So for your shelf, our recommendation for a 100 cm shelf would be 3 brackets.
Question:
How durable are wooden brackets compared to metal ones?
Answer:
This is a very good question, metal bends and wood splits under very high pressure. If we compare brackets made from a single piece of metal bent in a certain shape, they are much easier to bend further after applying very little pressure. Thus, these metal brackets are less resistant compared to wooden ones. This situation changes when metal brackets are made of at least 2 or 3 pieces that have been welded together. In the end, both types of brackets are very resistant, being able to hold over 100-200 kg, but the wall on which they are attached and the use of inappropriate screws for attachment greatly reduce the maximum weight supported. That's why most stores recommend a maximum of 40kg per bracket.
Question:
Is it okay to use shorter shelf brackets with a deeper shelf?
Answer:
It is not recommended but it can be used. However, try to put the heavy products as close as possible to the wall and the light ones further away and close to the outer edge of the shelf, in this way, you create a scale whose swing point is located at the front end of the brackets on which the shelf she is caught. The heavy products being on the side facing the wall where the brackets are fixed to the shelf creates pressure through their weight helping the screws by which the shelf is attached to the bracket so that the shelf is well fixed and can be loaded with products.
Question:
What is the maximum load these brackets can support?
Answer:
Thank you for the question. Our brackets support around 200 kg per bracket, but because we cannot guarantee the screws used for fastening or the quality of the wall and the materials from which it is made, we have reduced the weight to 40 kg in order to fit them in an area of safety where, regardless of whether you use screws that are not quite correct, they will not fall off the wall.
Question:
The wood is treated or can be painted directly over it?
Answer:
The wood in our natural color brackets is 100% clean wood to which no chemicals or treatments have been applied. The wood is highly polished, making it ideal for being painted or varnished at the customer's choice.
Question:
Can I use 10 cm brackets with a 20 cm wide shelf?
Answer:
It is not recommended but it can be used. If you choose to use it, we recommend that the heavy products that will sit on the shelf be as close as possible to the wall, in this way, their weight will help the shelf not to put too much pressure on the brackets that support it.
Question:
Hi, is it possible to repaint these brackets if they don't match the color of my shelf?
Answer:
Yes, you can repaint these brackets if their current color does not match. However, we recommend you use a paint with a similar structure (water-based or oil-based) or before application use sandpaper to remove part of the existing layer of paint to create a better grip for the paint which will apply.
Question:
I am looking for a 18 cm brackets to mount upside down if possible. Thanks
Answer:
For upside-down mounting, we recommend choosing some brackets that have a full middle area, such as LIOM, NAFER, or DISER. These bracket models can be successfully mounted upside down and withstand weights of up to 40 kg on the shelf when mounted upside down.
Question:
What kind of brackets do you recommend for a garage, varnished or painted?
Answer:
For the garage, we recommend lacquered brackets because some of the painted ones (not all) are painted with water-based paint. Of course, if you think that some painted brackets are better suited to your project, please contact us and we will check at the production workshop if we can make them in the color you want using oil-based paint that will make those brackets resistant in the environment with high condensation.
